Tulsa McCullough Park Renovation Begins – FOX23 News

McCullough Park is about to have a makeover!

As of December 2021, the city of Tulsa is injecting $ 3.6 million into the park near East 25th Street and South Garnett.

Members of the East Tulsa community were involved in the design of this park. Tulsa Parks hosted public design events, received feedback via a bilingual online survey, and distributed Design Your Dream Park worksheets to schools to collect children’s ideas.

Vision Tulsa’s money will help create a Pump Track bike park, new walking trails, plaza, multi-purpose sports field, playground and children’s play area on this 11-acre landscape.

“It has been an honor to fight for this Vision Tulsa project,” said District 6 Councilor Connie Dodson. “My goal was to provide a destination park for eastern Tulsa and bring amenities to an underserved area of the city. I am proud to say that I have succeeded. This park brings the first water feature east of Memorial to our community, a pavilion and covered areas for gathering, a multi-sport field, and a larger bike and scooter pumping track than The Gathering Place. This is the first major investment of its kind in decades by the city of Tulsa, and I can’t wait for it to come back to life.

The overall theme of the park will be an international theme that will be showcased on the brightly painted surface of the terrain, using graphics from the world and multiple languages on the splash square, design of shading structures and other highlights. . that this park is truly a unique destination.

“Each Vision Tulsa project improves one facet of Tulsa’s quality of life, making our world-class city a better place to live,” said Mayor GT Bynum.

The City says construction will take about a year.
