The old Kmart building bought by the local orthopedic practice will undergo major renovations

The old Kmart building at Wesleyan Park Plaza has been sold and will undergo a major renovation over the next year. Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine purchased the building and plans to move there in 2023 after a total facade and interior renovation.

The local orthopedic institution was established in 1962 and has grown and evolved over the past 60+ years and is now an eight doctor practice.

Advanced – formerly Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Owensboro (OSMO) – is currently located at 2831 New Hartford Road. Their new address will be 2772 Frederica Street.

According to a company statement, Advanced “will finalize its move to its new, updated facility next year to provide advanced services and amenities to its patients across the region. Through their new home, they will continue to provide provide residents of Owensboro and surrounding areas with expert non-surgical and surgical treatment for injuries or conditions of the ankle, elbow, foot, hand, hip, knee, shoulder, and wrist.

According to the press release, the new campus will offer:

  • Convenient centralized location.
  • Large and easy parking.
  • New state-of-the-art MRI and X-ray.
  • Expanded therapeutic space.
  • Expansion of the clinic space.
  • The same best-in-class patient care.

Before the end of the transition, patients in need of specialized orthopedic care can still call the practice at 270-926-4100 to schedule an appointment at their current location.
