The Dallas Men’s Show, held Jan. 29-31, featured more than 700 brands and welcomed hundreds of shoppers from across the country, according to a statement from Dallas Mall. The trade event, triple the size of previous winter editions, attracted buyers from 35 states. Attendance has increased significantly from pre-pandemic shows, including an increasing number of buyers from the Southeast and upper Midwest in addition to repeat and new buyers from Texas and surrounding states.
“We’ve created a men’s show that appeals to a wider national audience than ever before and appeals to so many shoppers new to Dallas,” said Cindy Morris, President and CEO. “We are grateful to the brands for supporting an event for top menswear retailers looking for a location to find everything they need.”
The Dallas Men’s Show took place across multiple floors of the World Trade Center and featured expanded categories including accessories, gifts, outerwear, contemporary, luxury, tailored suits, sportswear and sports clothes. The growth of the show was discussed by Rosemarie Grieco, Managing Partner of Scott Barber: “The 12th floor expansion has changed the whole landscape of the show, and working with the DMC team is fantastic.”
Among the buyers was Harry Mayer of Harry Mayer Clothiers in Meridian, Mississippi, who said, “It’s hard to believe there are hundreds of exhibitors and they’re growing every season. The energy and networking we gain is invaluable. Dallas is such an impressive and inviting city, which makes it by far our favorite and most effective shopping trip.
Exhibitors rate traffic, orders and show experience
Many exhibiting manufacturers noted the lively spirit of the show and reported good order writing.
“We had a good show; we made many appointments and opened new accounts,” said Alan Paine, Brand Director of Jim McKenry. “Dallas is an ideal city for this show with so many restaurants and good hotels; it is attractive to buyers.
Reynolds Flowe of Onward Reserve observed: “We had many appointments and heavy foot traffic. We’ve seen buyers from all over, including the East Coast and the Midwest, looking for immediate and fall deliveries. We are looking to expand for the next show.
The next Dallas Men’s Show will take place from July 30 to August 1. Dallas Mall Events include apparel and accessories market and total home and gift market, March 22-25; and KidsWorld, March 22-25.
