Rendering of the 1021 West Dickson food court renovation
Renovations have started at the food court at 1021 W. Dickson St., formerly known as Brough Commons.
The renovation includes the expansion of the dining room on the east side of the building and the installation of an outdoor patio. The patio will feature several new seating options for diners and improved landscaping. Interior renovations are also underway, including the expansion of the kitchen and dining room and the addition of a convenience store.
Lynne Bell, assistant vice chancellor of business services for student affairs, believes the renovation is the next step in providing students with a better culinary experience on campus.
“This project is part of a 10-year foodservice strategic plan developed by the university and Chartwells. We plan to move the current Slim Chickens to a larger space on the west side and create a new market style convenience store, ”said Bell mentioned. “When complete, this renovation will improve our ability to serve students and add additional outdoor seating with great mountain views.”
Construction is expected to be completed next summer. Project updates and more details can be found on the Facilities management site.
