Plainview residents are unhappy with the cemetery after every grave was stripped of any decorations or sentimental pieces.
The cemetery said it was an annual event and should be “common knowledge”. However, that wasn’t the case since no one knew it was happening.
Criselda Casarez buried her mother there last October and she opened up about how disrespectful it was to her.
“That they take their things away without saying anything like that bothers me because we have it there, we gave them their things for a reason.”
Plainview residents took to social media on Sunday to post images of what they saw in the dumpster near the cemetery. Some videos showed the dumpster full of flowers, and right next to it on the floor were crosses and other sentimental pieces.
All people are asking for in the future is better communication.
Casarez said: “Plainview needs to be more communicative with you know, everyone there and let us know why they’re going to do it or just give us a warning. Not just going to do it because they want to. Because it’s not fair to us.
The cemetery wants anyone with questions or concerns to call them and they will do their best to answer them. Their number is (806)293-4555.
