Grant Holloway’s nickname “Wonder Boy” suits the first Olympian.

His performance at the Olympic track and field trials in the United States in June turned heads, but the 23-year-old has broken records since his college days in Florida. Holloway won eight NCAA titles and the Bowerman Award in 2019 after being a finalist the year before.

And the track isn’t the only thing he’s good at. Holloway was a four-star high school graduate and had High Division I offerings.

Ultimately, Holloway chose his love for running and his dream of competing in the Olympics, which football couldn’t achieve. This dream becomes reality in Tokyo.

Yes. Holloway has qualified for Tokyo 2020, his first Olympics, and will compete in the 110-meter hurdles. He won gold in this event at the 2019 World Championships with a time of 13.10 seconds.

In practice, Holloway placed first with a time of 12.96. He was faster in his semifinal performance, clocking 12.81, just short of the world record of 12.80 held by Aries Merritt.
