How to get more ceiling decorations

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 added several new design features, and players can now decorate their ceilings with lamps and shelves.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 introduced a number of new features and decorative items, allowing players to customize their walls and now their ceilings more than ever. They can now use wallpaper to create an accent wall, install room dividers to change a room’s landscape, and hang lights and shelves from the ceiling. These new functionalities are also accessible within the framework of the Happy home paradise DLC so that players can implement them in the vacation homes of the villagers.

Ceiling elements were first introduced in the Animal crossing series in Happy home designer, which included a variety of lamps and decorations that the player could unlock. They can be hung from the ceiling to add depth to their design and create lighting effects. Animal Crossing: New Horizons now includes lights, shelves, chandeliers and even signs, giving players even more options to bring their interior design visions to life.

In the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0, players now have the option to toggle ceiling decoration in decoration mode. Just as they could switch between wall and floor decoration, players can now switch between walls, floors and ceilings. Ceiling decorations in the player’s pocket will have a lamp icon in decoration mode to indicate where they can be placed in the room.

In order to unlock the possibility of decorating their ceilings, Animal crossing players will need to visit Resident Services and purchase the Nook Stop Professional Decorating License for 2,500 Nook Miles. These miles will be refunded if the player has the Happy home paradise DLC. Once the license is unlocked, players can switch between decorating their floors, walls and ceilings with the + button in decor mode.

Ceiling decorations can be purchased from Nook’s Cranny, as the store has been updated to contain many of the 9,000 new items added in Update 2.0. In addition, sometimes ceiling objects can be found like other furniture in balloons and other random drops, which only requires a little luck. Players with the Happy home paradise DLC will also be able to find and purchase Ceiling Decorations in the Paradise Planning Desktop Shop for Poki, a new in-game currency.

Toggling the ceiling to decorate mode will give players a top-down view to place ceiling furniture where they want it. This view also includes a grid to help players find the exact right location for their new lamps and shelves, although they can rotate the camera to see different angles of the room and lighting effects.
