Bangalore (Karnataka) [India], October 10 (ANI): The iconic Malleshwara temple in Bengaluru has been decorated with a titanic theme for Navratri.
Speaking to ANI, Dr Sutram Kiran Shastri, Chief Priest of Vasavi Temple, Malleshwara, said: “Everyone knows that Dusshera is a festival of lights and celebration and the Puja of Chamudeshwari Devi and Durga Mata Devi. The whole country celebrates dusshera in different forms, and the Vasavi Malleshwara temple made a unique decoration for the Dashara festival in which devotees board the ship and can experience the ships and enjoy the beauty of the ocean.”
“We have followed all guidelines for COVID-19 with masking, social distancing and disinfection,” he added.
A visitor to the temple said: “It’s a bit dramatic when you walk in, then you feel like you’re in a boat, it’s called a titanic ship. It looks like virtual reality.”
The Navaratri festival is celebrated in different ways across the country. Over the next nine days, devotees offer their prayers to Goddess Durga and observe fasts.
Shardiya Navratri begins from the first date of the month Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin, in which the divine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped for nine days. However, this year Navratri will only last eight days, which started on October 7 and ends on October 14. (ANI)
