COLORADO SPRINGS — After a 5-year wait, more than 1,000 people ventured to Panorama Park located off East Fountain Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive for the grand reopening of the largest park renovation in the history of COLORADO SPRINGS. the city.
The total cost of the renovation was $8.5 million after the city paid $5.5 million and the rest was provided by dozens of private and nonprofit partners like El Paso County Public Health, RISE | Southeast Colorado Springs and Trust for Public Land.

Brit Haley is the Acting Director of the City Parks Department of Recreation and Cultural Services. She says this project took a lot of work.
“We have the reopening of Panorama Park, which is a 13.5-acre park renovation, the largest the city has ever done. It cost $8.5 million, and we never could have done it. without many partners who have provided financial and community support partnerships,” says Haley.
She says they tried to take an approach to remodeling the park that had never been done before. “We reached out to the community and asked them what you wanted to see in the park, and we did that many times,” says Haley.
The park is meant to be a resource to help underserved communities in southeast Colorado Springs. But they hope that this park will be the main attraction in the city where everyone can come.
Jason Kiefer took his two sons to the park today. As residents of Cordera, his family was hesitant to take a long drive.
“There are so many different things you can do, I’m just looking around right now, my kids have just been busy. At first they were like I didn’t want to go to a park that far, and I ‘I want to check.’
